MUN Resolution Formatting Rules

The Golden Rules of Formatting:

  1. The Heading: Must include the Committee Name, Topic, list of Sponsors, and list of Signatories at the top left or center.
  2. The Title: The resolution should be titled formally (e.g., Draft Resolution 1.1).
  3. Preambulatory Clauses: Unnumbered, initial phrase italicized, ends with a comma.
  4. Operative Clauses: Numbered, initial phrase underlined, ends with a semicolon.
  5. Sub-clauses: Must be lettered (a, b, c). If you have sub-sub-clauses, they must be numbered with roman numerals (i, ii, iii). Sub-clauses do not require an operative phrase.
  6. The Final Clause: The very last operative clause of the document must end with a period.

The Digital Advantage:

Chasing down formatting errors manually is outdated. With MUN-Key.com, formatting compliance is automated. When a bloc submits a working paper through the digital dais, MUN-Key's architecture parses the document, verifying margins, clause numbering, and sub-clause lettering in milliseconds, bringing enterprise-grade efficiency to your vetting committee.
